Flying into ABQ vs SAF
While Santa Fe has a small regional airport (SAF), it is served by only a few airlines and has direct flights only from Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Phoenix. SAF is about a 15-20-minute drive from El Rey Court.
The Albuquerque Sunport (ABQ) is a much larger airport about one hour south of El Rey Court.
Flying direct from JFK to ABQ
There is only one direct flight from New York to Albuquerque: JetBlue Flight 65, which leaves JFK around 8 p.m. and arrives in ABQ at 10:50 p.m.
Shuttles
We plan to arrange a shuttle to pick up folks from ABQ airport for JetBlue Flight 65 on Thursday and Friday. Details to come.
We are also planning to have shuttles scheduled to go from El Rey Court to the Santa Fe Plaza through the weekend. The Plaza is 7 minutes from the hotel and is the historic heart of Santa Fe. We stronly encourage setting aside some time to visit! It is very walkable, has great food and shopping, and has a wealth of NM history.
Driving
If you drive to Santa Fe from ABQ during the day, we highly recommend taking the Rainbow Trail rather than the interstate. It is a gorgeous scenic drive between the cities and gives a real sense of the NM landscape. This drive is about 30-40 minutes longer than the direct route.
If taking this route, you can stop in Madrid (pronounced MAD-rid), an old mining town that is now a self-governed artists’ town and haven for off-the-grid types. There’s amazing art around the main drag; also, check out the local bar dating back to 1899 for amazing green chile cheeseburgers :)
Parking
There will be free parking available at the hotel.
